We really underestimate the power of what we put into our bodies. Some foods have been eaten for CENTURIES for their life giving properties. While there are movies and fairy tales that talk about "fountain of youth" and what not, there are actually foods in existence that can keep the body free of toxins, buildup, and prevent us from losing our essence so quickly.
Let me clarify that though eating nutritionally dense foods and herbs is one of the most important things we can do for our future, it won't matter if you squander all the of the energy that you build through poor habits and lifestyle.
We will talk about herbs another time, so I will just mention a couple of foods. GOJI Berries. Find a reliable source of Goji berries that are organic and have good color. Though they may be dried, you can still use them in juice, tea, and soup. Goji have been consumed by people of Asia as longevity tonic for centuries. Often, they are a used in congee, and herbal decoctions. Goji berries help the body to build essence, nourishing the liver and kidneys and moistening the skin and hair. Though it is a great berry for anyone to take, it is renowned for it's properties of giving beauty to women.
Next one, is Blackstrap Molasses. In fact, I combine the two of these into the same cup everyday. One tablespoon of unsulphured Blackstrap molasses in hot water with a small handful of Goji berries thrown on top makes a quick and easy tonic to take every day. Blackstrap Molasses (BSM) is loaded with calcium, iron and magnesium. In Chinese medicine terms, it nourishes the kidneys and many, many people have seen their grey hair turn back to black from taking it daily. Additionally, it will increase your bone strength and healing time from injuries. It's a super easy addition to your diet that will make an amazing difference. Take it every day for at least a month or two. For some, the affect may be small, but it is still a fantastic preventative and anti aging substance.

Confucianism 101 translated
Confucius, one of the most famous sages in Chinese history, has lessons that can still be applied to our lives today.
Let's take for example, from the "Confucian Analects" which is a compilation of Confucius teachings written by his disciples.
"Fine words and insinuating appearances are seldom associated with true virtue" Haha! in this day and age, it is quite the opposite. If someone is beautiful or handsome and speaks well, quite often we give this person more credence than a person of more rough presentation. What we should be looking at is the manner in which someone speaks, the overall things that they speak of, and their general principles in action-not just what they say. If they are truly as wonderful as they look, then this is just fine.
Sometimes we have no choice but to believe what someone says, to give them the benefit of the doubt. But when given the opportunity to see if they uphold their words, we may observe without judging. For instance, when interacting with a particularly overly friendly and loud speaking person, you may come to find out that the person values their own opinions and experiences so highly that they cannot hear anyone else in the conversation. And yet, they will engage others in conversation, simply to talk about themselves. If it is a teacher, this is normal provided that they are speaking about lessons, or are using their experience to convey a lesson. But if the average person simply cannot have a simple conversation without asserting, dominating or ignoring what you say, this indicates a lack of virtue. So, though the former person is "nice" we can see from their speech habits, body language and attitude that they may be quite insecure. Insecurity drives people to do many odd and sometimes uncomfortable things. Though most of us can feel insecure at one point or another in life, we should not let it dictate our level of cultivation. This means that we should strive to improve upon our habits, then we can cultivate virtue from the inside. As part of our own awareness, we should try to find the times and places to speak about what we think we know and strive to listen to others without looking at where we can constantly assert ourselves -unless it is the appropriate time to do so.
